Neem seeds and neem oil repels as well as kills various insects including the mites that are a great headache for most of the lawn owners. The plants of garlic, onions, scallions and chives are excellent for insect control. Fennels attract ladybugs a lot. Ladybugs kill spider mites and aphids but are harmless to people, or plants. Cilantro, dill, parsley and angelica herbs also attract ladybugs in your lawn.  

Organic sprays are also an alternative for insect control in your lawn. It is also important to maintain proper fertility of the soil. Proper waste handling methods along with fine compost techniques are important to maintain the soil fertility. Maintenance of proper soil fertility greatly helps in insect control along with repelling weed and fungus growth in the lawn. This type of insect control method greatly depends upon the type of insects in your lawn.
